NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY -

Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was in Eastern Carolina on Friday.

The former Arkansas governor appeared at the Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern for "Talkfest," hosted by local radio station WNBU 94.1. Huckabee hosted his nationally-syndicated program, The Mike Huckabee Show, from noon to 3 p.m. at the convention center.

A friendly crowd of a couple of hundred turned out to hear one of the national media's most conservative voices.

Huckabee went on to meet fans in Greenville later in the day.

The Republican served as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and ran for president in 2008. He is the host of the talk show, Huckabee, on the Fox News Channel.
