Authorities in Lexington accuse two men of stealing 300 car doors from a scrap metal storage site.
The Dispatch of Lexington reports that 33-year-old Bobby McGee Evans and 21-year-old Jonathan Cherell Evans are charged with felony larceny and first-degree trespassing.
Capt. Billy Scarboro said a man reported on Sept. 7 that the car doors were missing from property he used to store the items. The man said someone cut the fence at the site and took the car doors, which were valued at $3,000.
Scarboro said the man told him the thefts occurred sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 7.
The two men are free on $1,500 bonds and have a court date of Oct. 2. It's not known if they have attorneys, or if they're related.
