Mayor Lee Bettis confirms he won't seek reelection

NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY -

Mayor Lee Bettis told NewsChannel 12  Thursday evening he will not run for reelection.

According to Bettis, he has done everything he set out to do. Bettis said he's a public servant, not a politician.

Bettis has served as the Mayor of New Bern for one term. According to him, he never said he would run again.
