State troopers say a marine was standing in the road when he was hit by a car.

It happened around 1:30 A.M Saturday on Old Folk Stone Road near Hwy 210 in Sneads Ferry.

The marine is identified as 26-year-old Gabriel Padilla.

Troopers say Padilla had been drinking. The car's passenger side mirror hit him.

He was taken to the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune with non-critical injuries. No charges have been filed.
