Man charged with rape

BEAUFORT, CARTERET COUNTY -

Deputies said they arrested a man accused of raping a woman.

Carteret County investigators arrested Jonathan Murrell, 37, of Beaufort Wednesday.  He's been charged with second degree rape of a 35-year-old female victim.

Murrell has been placed in jail under no bond. He is scheduled for his first court appearance today.
