Man accused of baseball bat assault on Thanksgiving day

A Swansboro man was charged with assaulting another man with a baseball bat on Thanksgiving day . According to court documents, the victim was injured.

Corte Dixon, 19, of Swansboro, allegedly assaulted the man at a home on Water Street in Swansboro on Nov. 22.

Investigators did not release a motive for the alleged attack, or the identity or condition of the victim.

Dixon also destroyed a porch swing at the home, investigators said. The magistrate set Dixon's bond at $55,000. He was scheduled to appear before an Onslow County judge on Monday.
