CHERRY POINT -

Around 120 Cherry Point Marines prepared for deployment Tuesday.

Cherry Point Lt. Alex Aguilera, said several Squadrons including Marine Air Control Squadron II will officially leave North Carolina Tuesday afternoon.

The Marines were headed to Afghanistan to support defense missions.  It should take three to six days for the group to arrive to their destination, said Aguilera.

Several Marines spoke with our crew on base.  Lance Cpl. Josh Uaulrich said, "I'm a little anxious but I know my wife is prepared to take care of our children.  She will do a good job."

Lt. Aguilera said the Marines were going to deploy for 6-12 months.
