Severe weather wreaked havoc around the Triangle Thursday. It's also being blamed for a house fire in North Raleigh.
In downtown Raleigh, a car was caught in rising flood waters at a construction site off of Wilmington Street near the Halifax Mall. Its driver was nowhere to be found.
Across town, a creek overflowed in front of the Milner Inn on Capital Boulevard.
Heavy rain also flooded the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Harrod Street.
Meanwhile, sheriff's deputies said lightning apparently started a fire on Kirkby Lane, which is just off Creedmoor Road.
So far, there haven't been any reports of injuries associated with the severe weather.
