Greenville Police: Car hits child

Greenville police say a child ran across a street and was hit by a car.

This happened at the MacGregor Village apartment complex near Allen Rd., just after 5:30 Wednesday evening.

Officers said the child popped out from behind some dumpsters, and the driver of the car could not avoid hitting the victim.

Police said the child was not taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

Investigators said they believe the crash was an accident. No charges will be filed.
