Greenville Police: $30k in narcotics seized from convicted felon
A convicted felon, on federal probation for previous charges, was arrested Thursday for allegedly having about $30,000 worth of narcotics.
Carl Jason Jerome, 36, of Bostic Dr. in Greenville, is being held at the Pitt County Detention center under a $2 million bond.
The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force seized 1,000 dosage units of heroin, 2.5 oz. of crack cocaine, and 1.5 oz. of powder cocaine from the suspect, after hearing complaints of illegal activity at his home, police said. The street value of the drugs is about $30,000, police said.
Jerome was charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling for use, storage, or sale of controlled substances.
Jerome is on federal probation for previous cocaine trafficking charges. According to state records, he has been convicted of several drug felonies and misdemeanors dating back to 1995.
