Goldsboro Police said they arrested a man during his third attempt at breaking into an ATM.
According to investigators, they were alerted of an alarm activation at the North Carolina State Employees' Credit Union Cashpoints ATM, at 161 Highway 111 South. It happened at about 1:45 a.m. Monday morning. Officers said when they arrived, the discovered 35-year-old Lorenzo Marice Farrow, of Longleaf Avenue, inside the ATM, trying to open the cash safe to steal the money inside.
According to investigators, Farrow was also responsible for attempted break-ins at the Bank of America ATM, on Cashwell Drive, and the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union Cashpoints ATM, on Berkeley Boulevard. The incidents happened on April 19 and April 21 respectively. But Farrow was not able to steal any cash in those incidents, police said.
Farrow was arrested and charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of safecracking, and one count of possession of burglary tools. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $25,200 secured bond.
Farrow's first court appearance was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
