Fugitive caught on community college campus

Beaufort County deputies arrested a wanted fugitive on a community college campus.

Christopher Rich, 31, of Winterville was wanted in central Virginia.

Deputies say Rich was driving erratically and had expired tags when they pulled him over Thursday morning on the campus of Beaufort Community College in Washington.

Investigators tell us they found a knife with a six-inch blade in his car.

Rich was served with a fugitive warrant and is also charged with possession of a weapon on a school campus.

There is no word yet on his Virginia-related charges.
