Four children involved in highway crash

Police charged a River Bend woman in connection with a Highway 17 crash that involved four children.

Evelyn Higginbotham turned her Cadillac passenger car in front of a white sedan while Higginbotham was trying to turn from Highway 17 onto Shoreline Drive, police said.

There were four children in the sedan, which was driven by Raynetta Staton. The children were all eight years old or younger; no one was seriously injured, police said.

Police charged Higginbotham with unsafe movement.
