Crews are working to contain a wildfire that's growing in northwest Caldwell County and has spread to 150 acres.
The Charlotte Observer reports that the U.S. Forest Service said it has set up a containment line around the fire. That containment line covers a 250-acre area, and officials said they expect all that area to burn over the next few days.
The fire started late Friday night. It had spread to about 50 acres Saturday, then grew again Sunday morning.
An advisory issued by the National Weather Service called for an increased wildfire threat on Sunday. Humidity levels are very low across the region, and rainfall for the last few months has been well below average. Breezy conditions also were forecast Sunday.
