The First Family welcomed the White House Christmas tree Friday morning, a 19-foot Fraser fir that came from North Carolina.
First lady Michelle Obama and her daughters, Sasha and Malia, as well as their dog, Bo, greeted the arrival of the tree at the North Portico of the White House.
The Fraser fir was cut from Peak Farms in Jefferson, N.C. Monday morning, and arrived to the First Family Friday morning on a horse-drawn carriage. It will be displayed in the Blue Room of the White House.
The first lady said the tree is "perfect."
The fir tree comes from the farm of 2012 National Christmas Tree Association grand champion winners Rusty and Beau Estes. Members of the association have presented the official White House Christmas tree every year since 1966.
This is the seventh Christmas tree from Ashe County, N.C. to go to the White House. North Carolina leads all states, with 12 Christmas trees sent to First Families.
