Fire starts near ECU campus

Firefighters are called to a fire at the Riverwalk Townhouses which are located near East Carolina University.

The townhouses are in the 2800 block of Cypress View Way in Greenville - that's about two miles from campus.  The fire call came in about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters said a resident's cooking got out of hand at a duplex on the property, starting a kitchen fire.  Minor damage, including melted window blinds, smoke and water damage to the kitchen have been reported.  Firefighters say no one was hurt.
