A fire destroys an SUV at the campus of an Onslow County high school.
The SUV burst into flames just after 6:15 a.m. Tuesday at the bus parking lot of Swansboro High School, investigators said. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw that the fire was threatening two nearby vehicles.
The blaze was put out in about 15 minutes. An adjacent vehicle suffered minor damage.
The SUV destroyed in the fire was owned by a couple from Hubert, investigators said. No one was inside the vehicle when it burst into flames.
Firefighters say the blaze is not considered suspicious. They did not release a cause.
