Fire crews said a man escaped a fire that destroyed his Beaufort County home Tuesday,

Crews said the fire started around 7:00 p.m. in the kitchen area of a single-wide mobile home off of Edgewater Beach Road near the town of Washington.

One person inside at the time escaped without injuries.
