Fire destroys home

NORTH RIVER -

A fire destroys a home in Carteret County.

It happened near the intersection of Laurel Road and Merrimon Road in North River.

Authorities say a single-wide mobile home caught fire. Crews were on the scene until about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Fire officials say the cause was electrical. The mobile home is a complete loss.

The owner was not home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
