A Sunday afternoon fire destroyed ten acres of crops for a local farmer.

It happened in Craven County, off Highway 55 near Dover.

Fire officials say it's unclear what started the fire.

Two departments went to the scene about 4 p.m.

About 10 acres of soybeans were destroyed.

No one was hurt.
