Former Gov. Beverly Perdue will be on a North Carolina campus this fall after spending the spring at Harvard University.
Duke University has announced that Perdue will be a distinguished visiting fellow at the school's Sanford School of Public Policy during the fall semester and an adviser to the school's Duke Center for Child and Family Policy.
Perdue's activities at Duke sound similar to those she'll participate in as a resident fellow at Harvard's Institute of Politics. A Duke news release quotes the Sanford school dean as saying he envisions Perdue speaking with classes and interacting with students and professors.
Perdue was North Carolina's first female lieutenant governor and governor, serving four years as chief executive until last month. She decided not to run for a second term as governor.
