GREENVILLE -

The head and associate head coach of the East Carolina University softball team have both been dismissed from their positions.

Chancellor Steve Ballard announced today that head softball coach Tracey Kee and associate head coach Natalie Kozlowski are no longer affiliated with the ECU athletic program. The two were suspended on August 31st.

Coaches and athletes were questioned and through these investigations officials found the program to be described as a emotionally hostile environment and identified potential NCAA violations.

ECU Athletic Director Terry Holland said the search for a head softball coach is underway. Holland said he expects to have a coach in place by the end of October.

Kee became ECU's head softball coach in 1997. Kozlosski has been with the team since 2000.
