Deputies: Rollover car crash scatters drugs and paraphernalia, arrest made
Beaufort County deputies say a rollover car crash scattered drugs and drug paraphernalia that was inside the car and more drugs were found inside the vehicle and on the driver.
The crash happened Thursday at 7:19 p.m. on Highway 33 East near Dixon Road in Beaufort County. Deputies say a single vehicle was involved and had overturned.
During the investigation, troopers and deputies say they recovered controlled substances and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle, the crash debris field and from the driver’s person. Approximately four ounces of marijuana, nine Oxycodone pills and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized.
Deputies arrested the driver, William Earl Jefferson Jr., 54, of Asbury Church Road in Washington. He is charged with Driving While Impaired, two counts of Trafficking Opium or Heroin, Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping and Selling a Controlled Substance and Possession Drug Paraphernalia.
