Deputies: Man tries to rape woman he knows

MOREHEAD CITY -

Carteret County deputies arrested a man for allegedly trying to rape a woman at her home.

Alonzo Corey Hart, 19, of Treatment Plant Rd. in Morehead City, was taken into custody on Tuesday. He was charged with attempted second-degree rape.

According to deputies, Hart trued to rape a woman at her Newport home on Monday, Feb. 4. Hart knew the victim, investigators said.

Hart was charged was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $15,000.00 bond. He was  scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday.
