EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA -

Organizers of a tour that focuses on people who are homeless, out of work or who are without health care, are holding a news conference to discuss details of a meeting scheduled for eastern North Carolina.

The leaders of the Truth and Hope Poverty Tour have scheduled a news conference for Wednesday in Raleigh, the city where the tour started in January.

According to the NAACP, the tour traveled 2,000 miles and met with people in 27 different communities. Five organizations joined forces to investigate the extent of poverty across the state.

A meeting and summit which seeks to involve people who were interviewed on the tour is scheduled for Saturday in Rocky Mount.
