Car rolls, bystanders help victims escape wreckage

New Bern Police are investigating an accident in which a car rolled and brushed a utility pole near busy Glenburnie Road.

Crews said bystanders helped the people inside escape the car, which had landed on its roof.

One person was taken to a hospital and another person was treated at the scene, crews said.

The car was still in the location pictured above as of 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

The scene was near the intersection of Hwy. 17 and Glenburnie Road, near the Harris Teeter grocery store.
