Police say an armed robbery suspect has turned himself into authorities in Pitt County.
Tony Morris Ward is now in jail and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and other charges. Bethel Police Chief Troy Strickland says Ward went into the ABC Liquor Store in Bethel about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. Strickland says Ward had a knife, demanded money from the clerk and did run away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police searched for Ward late into Tuesday night and then started back up early Wednesday morning, before they say Ward turned himself in to the Pitt County Magistrate's Office about 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Chief Strickland says no one was hurt.
