Cousteau's Granddaughter Coming to New Bern
As a part of their cross-continent film and social media project with NationalGeographic.com, Alexandra Cousteau and her film team will be in New Bern, NC on Saturday, September 11th. The team, traveling across North America in a custom-made biodiesel production bus, will team up with the Neuse River Foundation and RBC at several events where the community can meet Alexandra Cousteau and the Expedition Team. Alexandra Cousteau and the Expedition Blue Planet Team will be available throughout the day at the tour bus at Persimmons Restaurant in New Bern. The events include: - "90 minute Neuse River Tour with Alexandra Cousteau" aboard the “Joy Boy,” at 9 AM ($15.00/person) , "Lunch Buffet with Alexandra Cousteau" at Persimmons Restaurant – 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM ($25.00), and "Evening with Alexandra Cousteau" at Persimmons Restaurant (hors d’oeuvres & cash bar) – 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM ($25.00). As a tribute to the 100th birthday of her grandfather, Jacques Yves Cousteau, Alexandra and her team set out earlier this summer on a 138-day expedition across North America to explore water issues in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.
