10 more flu-related deaths reported in North Carolina
Ten more flu-related deaths have been reported in North Carolina.
According to the latest report from the Department of Health and Human Services, the new flu deaths occurred between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1.
In all, 56 flu-related have been reported in North Carolina since October 2013.
Of the 56 deaths, one case was a child between 0 and 4 years old, and two cases were children between 5 and 17 years old, the DHHS report stated. The infant who died was from Eastern North Carolina.
There have been 22 deaths in the 25 to 49 age group, 19 deaths in the 50 to 64 age group, and 12 deaths in the 65 and over age group, according to the report.
The flu season typically peaks during January and February.
