Firefighters in Onslow County battled a fire on Saturday that ended up destroying two barns and a truck.
The scene was off Bridge Side Drive, in the Piney Green area near Jacksonville.
Crews got the call about 3 p.m.
Piney Green Volunteer Fire Department Chief Roy Hall believes the fire somehow started as a man was using a lawn mower in the area and the mower kicked out an object that sparked the blaze.
A neighbor heard a muffled explosion, Hall said, which could have been an object being ejected from the mower.
Wind spread the flames from the first shed to another shed and a pick-up truck.
The structures and the truck are total losses.
No one was hurt.
