Mom accused of smuggling meth in Bible
Texas woman arrested while visiting daughter in jail
A 69-year-old woman has been indicted on charges she tried to use a Bible to smuggle drugs into the Jefferson County Jail.
Carolyn Hebert Frioux, 69, of Fannett, went to visit her daughter in jail in July.
When deputies inspected the Bible she was carrying, they said they found meth inside.
A grand jury last week handed up a one-count indictment charging Frioux with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
She was booked into jail, then released after posting $8,000 bail.
