Three Rescued After Boat Capsizes In Rough Waters

Three people were pulled from the water Saturday afternoon after their 16-foot boat capsized, according to the US Coast Guard.

It happened in the Sneads Ferry area in Onslow County, near the Highway 172 high rise bridge that spans Ellis Cove.

The call came in at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday, after the boat started taking on water and the bilge pump failed.

The boat capsized and all three people aboad, who were wearing life jackets, went into the water.

The NC Marine Patrol plucked them from the waves.

All are OK, according to a Coast Guard official.
