ECU police arrested a student they say filed a false police report in connection with a reported sexual assault on campus.
Officers say Shadia Antoinette Moore, 21, told ECU police on June 24 that she had been sexually assaulted in a stall in a first floor rest room in the Austin Building on campus. An extensive investigation, including laboratory analysis of evidence by the State Bureau of Investigation, established that there was no assault.
Moore was arrested on Monday on a misdemeanor charge of filing a false police report. She was released from the Pitt County Detention Center on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
