So far this season there have only three hurricanes have churned in the ocean. The third, what was Hurricane Ida is now a tropical storm.
But not before ripping through Central America.
The hardest hit area, El Salvador was pounded with flooding and landslides.
As a result of Ida more than 100 people were killed.
Ida is expected to be a rain maker for us. And depedning on how the wind blows we might have to watch out for some flooding.
"With a storm like coming now...always wind from the northeast or northwest takes the entire Neuse and part of the Pamlico and sticks it right in the canal," said Tony Michalek.
Michalek lives in the Adams Creek area of Carteret County. His home has been flooded four times as a result of not so much rain, but the easterly winds.
So even though hurricane season is almost over, don't let your guard down just yet.
Hurricane season ends November 30th.
