A Rocky Mount police officer and a cadet have been arrested for stealing firearms.

25-year-old David Ryan Christman and 25-year-old Marvin Joshua Cobb, both of Rocky Mounty, were arrested Tuesday in connection with a 2007 breaking and entering of a car where two guns were stolen.

Christmas is an officer at the Rocky Mount Police Department. Cobb is a student in Basic Law Enforcement Training. Cobb was arrested Wednesday and Christman was arrested Thursday. Both were living in Greenville at the time of the crime.

The arrests followed an investigation of a stolen firearm pawned at Coastal Pawn in Greenville. Research found the gun was stolen during the 2007 breaking and entering.

Both Christman and Cobb were charged with breaking and entering of a vehicle, larceny of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm. Both men were released from the Pitt County Detention Center afrer being placed under unsecured bonds.
