If you are looking for some family friendly Halloween fun, here are some events that are taking place on Monday, October 31st. Some events are Halloween themed and others are just welcoming the new season of autumn. We have listed the events, locations and times, so that your family gets plenty of chances to partake in all the excitement.

CARTERET COUNTY Mill Creek Haunted Woods - Starting at dusk. Directions from New Bern: Approx. 3 miles east of Havelock merge left at ?Newport Next Left? sign. Go approx. 3 miles on Chatham Street. Turn left onto Market Street at the Red & White store. Go 1 block and turn right onto Orange Street. Go approx. 7 miles, haunted woods will be on the left, across from the fire station. Attractions include Blood Cemetery, Amityville Manor, smoke filled tunnels, lots of monsters and ghouls and candy for the kids on select nights. Free, but donations are encouraged and appreciated.

The Town of Emerald Isle will observe Trick-or-Treat from 6- 8:30 p.m.

CRAVEN COUNTY Fun Fest- 5:15 p.m. at Elm Grove Baptist Church on 5403 Weyerhaeuser Road in Ayden. A hotdog supper will be served from 5:45-6:45 p.m. The Trunk & Treat, hayride and cupcake walk will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Hallelujah Night- 6-8 p.m. at Without Limits Christian Center at 2111 Neuse Blvd, Suite E, New Bern . A fun, safe, family friendly alternative to Halloween. Children up to age 12 are invited to attend with their parent(s)/guardian(s). Costumes are welcome, but no scary costumes.

Trick or Treat- New Bern (no specific hours); Havelock (Monday 6-9 p.m.); Vanceboro (no specific hours).

Cornerstone Assembly of God Annual Harvest Festival- 6-8 p.m. at 2304 Hwy 70E, New Bern, NC 28560.

Temple Baptist Church Fall Family Festival - 5-7 p.m. (rides, candy, hot dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy & popcorn), and 7-8 p.m. (family service inside the church geared towards the children with songs and worship) at 1500 Kingdom Way in New Bern.

Free Ice Cream - The Java Cream in New Bern is handing out free kid scoops of ice cream. Children who come in from 4-7 p.m. and say "Trick or Treat" will get a free scoop. Location: 1904 S. Glenburnie Road Unit A next to Gina's Pizza.

ONSLOW COUNTY Trick or Treat - Jacksonville, Holly Ridge (5-9 p.m.); Swansboro, Richlands (6-8 p.m.).

PITT COUNTY Trick or Treat - Greenville (no specific hours); Winterville (no specific hours); Farmville (5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.).

Harvestfest - Greenville Convention Center from 6-9 p.m.

Critters Trick or Treat Event - 5-6 p.m. at the Pitt County Animal Shelter.

PAMLICO COUNTY Trick or Treat - No specific time.

Haunted High School - Halloween Night at Pamlico County High School from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is $3. There will be a Trunk or Treat from 5:30-7 p.m. for the little ones. The trunk or treat is free for elementary school students.

LENIOR COUNTY Trick or Treat - No specific time.

Haunted Trail- 7-10 p.m. at Bill Fay Park in Kinston. Admission to the trail is $5.00 per person. Recommended ages for the trail: 8 and above. Other Halloween activities will be going on as well.
