Change is coming to New Bern. For the first time in 16 years the city has a new mayor.
In the run off election Lee Bettis came out on top with 56% of the votes.
"We fought it the best way I knew how to fight it. It was a bloodless revolution. At the end of the day nobody got hurt. We transferred power and what we're gonna do is continue to work hard," said Mayor Elect, Lee Bettis.
Bettis says on the top of his to do list: enforcing term limits for the board and doing away with lifelong health care for board members.
