Home Break-ins
          Onslow   -  11/3/2009
Allie Belle Bradshaw of Richlands came home a couple weeks ago after church to find that someone had broken into her home. She walked in the back door like she usually does, and found that she didn't have to unlock it.

"I didn't notice it until I unlocked and I thought, 'It's already open...'" Bradshaw said it was a suprising moment. "I thought I locked that door. I'm sure I did."

She had locked that back door, but someone else still got in and went straight for her bedroom and her jewelry. A 53 year old wedding band and heirloom family jewelry pieces were gone.

Sherriff's deputies have discovered that this robbery was one of the 63 in Onslow County that may be linked to Thomas Duane Ruckman.

On Monday night, Ruckman's already long rap sheet grew by 29 charges, and the grand totaly is more than 130 charges all related to home break in's.

Seven other counties in eastern North Carolina are carrying ontheir own investigation on Ruckman, all with similar charges. Onslow County is continuing their investigation.

As for Bradshaw, she said there is one thing that investigations and insurance claims cannot replace.

"I have lost the sense of security I had before the break in. Because I know someone will break in."
